About Dr Drew Provan

Experience

I’ve spent my entire career at the intersection of medicine, science, and human performance. After a degree in molecular biology, I trained in internal medicine and spent time in orthopaedic surgery before specialising in haematology. I also spent a period at Harvard Medical School in Boston, carrying out research that shaped the way I think about health and disease.

For more than 25 years I have worked as a physician in London teaching hospitals, treating patients, teaching medical students, and co-authoring textbooks that are now used worldwide. Alongside my clinical career, I’ve written around 70 books, from Oxford medical handbooks to guides on technology, fitness, presentation skills, and art.

But medicine isn’t just something I practised in the hospital — it’s personal. In my 50s I was overweight, tired, and on multiple prescription drugs. I rebuilt my health through strength training, nutrition, and discipline, and today, in my late 60s, I lift weights five days a week, eat clean, and feel stronger and sharper than I did 20 years ago.

Now I bring together both worlds — decades of medical expertise and my own transformation — to help older guys to take back control of their health, rebuild strength, and rediscover focus and energy.
